As I sit and observe the first floor of the library, I immediately notice the quietness. My ears begin to ring as all I can here is the air conditioning running. The first person I notice is freshman women’s basketball player, Hannah Harris, I approached her to ask what she was working on, and her answer shocked me. Hannah was studying for her calculus test, this was hard for me to believe because taking a class that advanced as a freshman is very impressive. As I talked to her, I noticed eye balls shooting at my back, perhaps because I was the only one in the room talking. As I was receiving death glares, I turn around and notice a friendly face in Trey Powers. Trey is working on his accounting assignments while his legs are resting on another chair. I feel for him as I once took accounting and dreaded the monotonous tasks of the everyday homework. Powers legs resting is very understandable as he just finished a long week of conditioning and lifting. When I go to sit down, I smell the scent of hand sanitizer, which is a common smell on campus this year as we try to protect ourself from the pandemic. Although the drastic change from outside chaos to still noiseless life is shocking, I am not surprised as the library is a place of peace.
“My ears begin to ring as all I can here is the air conditioning running. ” You should hear what I hear.
“As I talked to her, I noticed eye balls shooting at my back, perhaps because I was the only one in the room talking.” This could be true or it could be guilt. Good that you looked around to see if it was accurate.
“I smell the scent of hand sanitizer, which is a common smell on campus this year.” Cool.
