Timberwolves select Anthony Edwards with the #1 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
Anthony Edwards is a 19 year old shooting guard from the University of Georgia, where he averaged 19.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists last year. Edwards became the 11th straight one-and-done player to be drafted No. 1 overall.
Edwards was interviewed via zoom where he said, “It’s an indescribable feeling, I can’t even describe it. So many emotions. My family is emotional. I feel like when I get out of here I’m going to be emotional. It’s beyond measure to be in this situation.” Edwards is expected to have a great year with the Timberwolves, and the Wolves hope to make a playoff push with all-stars, Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russel.
This article is news worthy because it gives relevant sports news. It also was the first online NBA draft, which certainly is news worthy.
