Brooklyn Nets Hire Hall of Famer Steve Nash as Head Coach by Adrian Wojnaroski

Thursday morning was a big one for NBA fans around the nation as the Brooklyn Nets announced that they hired Steve Nash as their head coach. Nash is a former NBA player and a Hall of Fame point guard known for his basketball IQ.

This hiring came out of now where for a lot of NBA fans, as Nash has no coaching history. However, Nash has developed a strong relationship with Brooklyn star, Kevin Durant, which undoubtedly paid a huge role in his hiring.

After meeting with the team, Nash and Brooklyn’s front office are poised to make a difference in the Eastern Conference next year, and even have a shot at winning the NBA Championship.

What is basketball IQ? I hear the phrase, but it seems to be a cliche.

This is a decent summary of the story, TJ, but it only gets you part way. Now you need to critique it. Is it news? What’s the news value? You didn’t include a link to the story, but I’m curious if it has a good lead. Is it objective? Is there any discussion of why Nash rather than a better-qualified African-American coach?
