A parking garage at the Miami Dade College in Doral, Florida collapsed on Thursday. Eight people were hospitalized and two were killed.  Another worker recently died making the death toll three. The collapse was said to be like, ” a pancake- style collapse.” Only construction workers were at the scene when the accident occurred. Debris flew 20 feet in the air and streets all around were blocked after the collapse.  They are still trying to find the cause of the tragedy.  Read the full story below.

This is newsworthy because not every day does a parking garage collapse. There could be a reason for this to collapse but in this story they do not seem to have a cause for it.  It was under construction so something could have gone wrong but they are still trying to find out what exactly happened.  It is unfortunate for all the workers in there, but this could have been a much worse situation if many people were in there parking or if there was thousands or millions of dollars in vehicles in the ramp when it collapsed.  People will still find this very newsworthy.
