Explosion at the Mega City Mall

On December 7, 2023 at 8:50 am, an explosion occurred at Mega City Mall. 

Two people have been found dead and along with multiple injuries. The fatalities will not be released at this time until the families are notified. 

Sergeant Fuglsang states, “At this time, we have no credible evidence that the explosion was anything but an accident. We are not making any assumptions.”

Frisky Kreme Donuts and Penny Dreadful have been reported with major damages Along with minor damages to the Mega City 17 Theaters.

The mall was filled with many employees and mall walkers. 

Jesus, a Victor’s Secret Employee states, “I was getting the store ready to open when I heard the explosion. I was immediately told to evacuate the mall.”

The explosion occurred near the food court. 

The food court custodian, Isabel states, “I heard the explosion, then I saw things flying around. I was very scared.”

The mall wants to emphasize to their employees and patrons, “Today our thoughts and prayers are with those who were injured, and with their families. Mall staff are working hand in hand with police and law enforcement to sort out this morning’s events. We will find answers and we will keep the public informed of our investigation. For the moment, however, the mall will be closed until engineers can assess the stability of the mall’s structure. Be assure, however, the mall will reopen in time for everyone to complete their holiday shopping. The holidays are an important time for families to come together and celebrate the season.”

The investigation on the explosion is ongoing. The Mega City Police Department has established a special team of investigators that will work alongside federal law enforcement agencies.

The Midland Zoo is mourning the loss of their oldest bear at the zoo, Homer. Polar bears have found a home at the zoo since 1985. The Midland Zoo’s top priority is the safety of their animals.

The two other polar bears a being monitored very closely by veterinary staff. The incident will be investigated to determine the exact cause of the death.

Although there has been two other animals that have died this month, their deaths are not related.
