Stuart Scott, an American sportscaster and anchor on ESPN, received the ESPYS Award last night. He delivered an inspirational acceptance speech.
Scott, battling cancer, addressed the audience, “When you die, that does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live and in the manner in which you live.”
Scott emphasized his love for his two daughters. Being a father is the best thing he will ever do.
Scott stated, “I love you guys more than I will ever be able to express. You two are my heartbeat. I am standing on this stage here tonight because of you.”
He is very thankful for the award and is continuing to never give up on his cancer battle.
The lead is OK, but it doesn’t convey the power or excitement
of the event. Maybe if, at the end of that first graf, you added
something from the last sentence:
… He delivered an inspirational acceptance speech that made
clear he would not surrender to cancer.
Some good quotes. Organization OK.
