Disgruntled students cause chaos at Townsville Central High School due to protesting.

Ten students have been suspended for one week after causing false alarms three times last Wednesday. The students said they were protesting the Monday suspension of five students, also suspended for one week, who were caught smoking marijuana in the school parking lot.

A food fight had closed the cafeteria on Tuesday. Principal Laura Vibelius commented, “Not so much unrest because of suspensions, but because of summer vacation being so near.” Vibelius sees no continuation of these “incidents” in the near future.
