Demi Lovato’s journey to recovery resumes.
On July 24th, Demi Lovato, a pop singer, was hospitalized following an overdose.
Jeff Nelson, reporter for People magazine, reported to People that the emergency call revealed the pop star was unconscious upon the EMS’s arrival and revived with Narcan — an emergency medication to reverse the effects of a narcotic overdose.
Brandon Johnson, the guy who apparently provided Demi with drugs the night before her disreputable overdose, is distributing some parts about the evening and emphasizing that the star knew the chances she was taking.
Johnson told Celebrity Insider that Demi texted him at 4:00 a.m. the morning she overdosed and tell the he read between the lines and brought over pills, which he said they did together. While they did drugs he claims they watched true crime TV until Lovato fell asleep. He also tries to make it known that he supposedly described to Lovato that the pills were “aftermarket” and not pharmaceuticals, consequently making them much tougher.
He rejects any comprehension that the drugs were laced. Numerous origins consider that Lovato’s overdose was the outcome of Oxycodone laced with fentanyl. Johnson says he left sometime between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. after Demi fell asleep. Demi’s assistant allegedly found her in dreadful trouble at 11:00 a.m., and she called 9-1-1 and Lovato was revived by Narcan.
Johnson called the instant “a wake-up call for her” and said that it widened his eyes to the risks of these drugs if the get into the immoral hands. TMZ reports that Johnson was arrested in March with a supply of guns, money, and drugs. Johnson was also supposedly arrested in June and arraigned with DUI and ownership of cocaine.
Many hours following the news of the hospitalization poured out, PEOPLE established that Demi was “stable.” Demi stayed in the hospital for almost two weeks. On August 3rd Demi agreed to go back to treatment, to an in-patient facility.
Lovato has battled addiction, eating disorders and mental illness for years. She entered a rehab facility in Chicago in 2010 where she was treated for bulimia, bipolar disorder, addiction and self-harm. She relapsed when she left and then entered a sober living facility for a year. Jeff Nelson, editor of People, mentioned that this March, the former Disney star revealed she had celebrated six years of sobriety. But in April there were rumors of a relapse and those rumors were confirmed by Demi that she had fallen off of the wagon in “Sober” which was a tear-jerking song about her current relapse.
Famed attorney, Robert Shapiro told People that he thinks Demi is going to have a very positive outcome after rehab. His son passed away in 2005 from a drug overdose, Brent. Because of Brent’s passing Shapiro created a foundation that established to help those in need of therapy. According to Robert, kids at Brent’s Club – the foundation he formed in the name of his departed son – sent Demi a bunch of get-well-soon cards to support her to get through this difficult time. Demi ended up spending two weeks in the hospital before finally checking out and heading straight to a live-in treatment facility to seek help with her addiction once again.
Demi posted an image on her social media opening about her journey with addiction. She mentioned how grateful she is for God, her fans, family, team, and the staff at Cedars-Sinai who have taken care of her over the difficult time.
“I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery,” Demi wrote in a statement on Instagram. “The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side.”
