Good Bhigh School ?

Filed under: Writing to Persuade 2011 —— Jordan Jacupke @ 8:53 AM

I dont like this article. By cutting High school out of a persons life you severely handicap them not only socially but educationally as well. I think my high school years were some of the most fun year (clean years) of my life. If i had to decide what i was gonna be before high school age i would have said a professional something. Anything that didnt involve going to school and getting a “real job”.
Columbine is not a direct product of america’s high school system. Two psychopathic douche bags = Columbine.
I have a feeling that this guy was made fun of in high school and also didn’t play sports. If you take away high school, you take away opportunities for so many kids that play sports and want to continue to play in college. If you get rid of HS, you get rid of sports. You get rid of sports in HS, you get rid of sports in college. Then what am i supposed to do on Saturdays.
I’ll give this guy some cheese for his whine.

Smoke a Little Smoke–

Smoke a little smoke- Eric Church
The song that I decided to live out for a weekend is “Smoke a little smoke” by Eric Church. In this song he is basically singing about living in the moment and forgetting everything that is going wrong. All that I have to is sit back, drink a little drink and smoke a little smoke (this is left up to one’s own interpretation ;).

I would start off a saturday morning in the summer time, around 11am, crackin’ open a cold one and sitting on my porch in a lawn chair. I might throw a few burgers or a steak on the grill and make myself some lunch. I would have my cooler full of beverages and would then proceed to light up whatever it is i’m smoking. This would continue until I get tired and “fall asleep”. 🙂 I would wake up and start the process all over. Listening to this song the entire time also, I can’t forget that.

Anyone can join if they’d like!

Attributes of a Quarterback: What’s good?

Filed under: Writing to Persuade 2011 —— Jordan Jacupke @ 2:11 PM

This article is from Helium.com which is a website made for coaches to post their opinions and outlooks on football specific things. The title is “The Most Important Attributes a Quarterback Should Have”.

This author of this article begins by telling what it’s about which is attributes of a QB and a list of criteria. The first attribute he says is important is having a strong arm. I agree with this. Quarterbacks in the NFL obviously have to have extremely strong arms to make all of the necessary throws required. The next is throwing ability and accuracy. Throwing ability is a combination of arm strength and accuracy. A QB needs to be able to throw the ball a lot while throwing minimal interceptions. Accuracy to me is key to being a good quarterback because you can have the strongest arm in the league but that doesn’t matter if you cant hit the broad side of a barn with a hand full of rice. The last couple qualities are: being able to read defenses, being a good scrambler and having great leadership skill. Besides having to scramble, i agree that the other two are important. Especially being able to read defenses. If a QB can’t read a defense then he’ll have no idea where to throw the ball or where to look for the open receiver.
Overall i would say that I agree with the claims made by the author. He doesn’t have lengthy explanations but they get to the point and i think that is the important thing. I wonder though if the author himself played quarterback or if he is just an educated opinion from years of experience coaching quarterbacks.
