GoFundMe or GoFraudMe

Usually people log on to GoFundMe to ask for help with donations for an expensive cost that can’t be met by user. In this case, a couple ran into a homeless man named Johnny Bobbitt Jr. who game his last $20 to them to buy gas.

The couple, Mark D’ Amico and Kate McClure wanted to return the favor and raise money for Johnny. The couple never gave Johnny his money after months had gone by. In about 9 months the couple raised $400,000 exceeding their original goal of $10,000.

To secure money from being donated to the wrong people, GoFundMe would need to tighten their security, making sure whoever needs the money receives it. The money donated should be linked to the person’s personal account to avoid from freud happening.
