Lone Abortion Clinic Isn’t Scared to Face The Supreme Court Head On

(Final Article #1)

Lone Abortion Clinic in Mississippi Plans to Fight Recent Regulations on Abortions and Isn’t Afraid to Get The Supreme Court Involved as Well

The Supreme Court is expected to revisit longstanding controversial decisions that allows states to regulate abortions before fetal viability, 23-24 weeks, later this year.

Mississippi however, passed a law in 2018 attempting to “ban all abortions after 15 weeks” according to MSN. The law was later blocked by lower court systems, but the state has ultimately asked the court to overturn those decisions.

Overtime, women have been dependent on the ability to have legal abortions allowing them to close the gap between gender equality. The Supreme Court came to a 5-4 vote allowing Texas to ban most abortions a crossed the state without keeping our constitutional rights in mind.

If the court plans to overturn Mississippi’s request to overturn the Roe v. Wade it “Will eliminate abortion(s) completely” says Nancy Northup. In case of this happening, eleven states have already put in place “trigger laws” that would immediately ban most abortions if Roe were to be overturned.

Abortion rights advocates warn the Supreme Court that there will be chaos if they decide to overrule the decision that protects women’s constitutional rights on abortion. This came to light after an abortion clinic in Mississippi challenged the ruling of the state’s ban on “Virtually all abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy” according to The Hill.

The Supreme Court plans to overturn these actions.

This isn’t just the only regulation that the government has put on abortions as “More than 90 abortion restrictions have already been enacted this year” according to the abortion rights think tank the Guttmacher Institute.

Many Clinics and people have attempted to protest these regulations on abortion in hopes to shine light on the gender inequality and the constitutional wrongs by the doing of the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court turned down the emergency request from the abortion providers to block Texas’s abortion plan which makes many speculate the Supreme Court intentions on preserving the rights of the Constitution. Experts suggest that the decisions made by the Supreme Court could have future implications on the integrity of the Supreme Court’s decisions to protect of the Constitution.

The Supreme Court is taking actions against the constitutions rights which is angering many individuals.

“Scientific advances show that an unborn child has taken on the human form and features months before viability” says ABC News showing how unborn children are already in the process of development which helps support the reasoning of the ban.

These states are forcing women to continue their unwanted pregnancy putting the health of the baby at risk of health problems. Until there’s some sort of case on this, states are still allowed to regulate abortions.

Armed Robbery at 450 Stanley Street

Two men armed with face mask coverings entered the store last night as one of them held Barney Joseph Jr, 43, at gun point while their partner went to the cash register and stole $382.65.

Joseph did have a gun in the store but decided not to use it due to the fact that he didn’t have enough time and told police that he felt like it was “unwise”. The robbery was over in less than a minute leaving Joseph unharmed.

After further investigation, the police noticed that his father had been held up at the same store, BJ’s Drug, almost 25 years ago. The difference between these two interactions were that Joseph didn’t want to use his gun as he thought he’d be safer just giving up his money than risking his life.

Order to Ban Hand Held Radar Guns Used by East Dakota Highway Patrol

A ban was ordered on hand- held radar guns used by East Dakota highway patrol yesterday in Sioux City, IA. There has been concerns that the troopers could develop cancer from the long term exposure to the radiation waves emitted by the the radar guns.

Spokesman Adam Smith, claims “The feeling here is to err on the side of caution until more is known about the issue….The whole situation is under review.” The move is considered to be the first of its kind by a state police agency. It comes two months after three municipal officers in Central City filed workman’s compensation claims, saying they developed cancer from using the hand–held units.

The ban was ordered after a study was being conducted between the the possible link to cancer and these select radar guns being used. The ban affects 70 radar guns that will withdrawn from service.

State troopers will continue however to use radar units with transmitters mounted on the outside of their cruisers.

Colts QB Carson Wentz Expected To Suit Up Week One

During training camp, Carson Wentz had to undergo a surgery on his foot potentially keeping him out of season for a good chunk of time. He was expected to miss several weeks in the regular season but somehow he is now expected to play week one as he prepares for the first game against the Seahawks. His initial recovery time was suppose to be 5-12 weeks and luckily he was able to recover closer to the 5 week span so he can be able to play for his team in time.

The article on Carson Wentz being set to go week one is a tad bit objective just due to the fact that the writer, Chase Goodbread, speculates that the Colts are going to be in better shape now that their captain is going to be able to lead their team on the field instead of cheering on the sidelines. Other than that, the story was cut and dry about the status of Carson Wentz and whether or not he was going to be able to start week one for the Indianapolis Colts.

The source used by Chase Goodbread in this article is a very reliable source because Ian Rapoport is the number one insider source in the football world. He is first person to know about anything that happens in the NFL before news breaks out. A lot of times, Ian Rapoport is also the first person to break the news about things that happen in the NFL therefore, he is the best possible source to go by.

Can Mac Jones Change The Way People View Alabama QBs?

In earlier news, Cam Newton recently got cut by the New England Patriots giving Mac Jones the green light to start week one of the regular season. In the past, QBs that have been drafted out of Alabama had huge success in the NFL but in the past 20 years or so the QBs out of Alabama have had minimum, to no production after being drafted into the NFL. Crazy enough however, three QBs are starting week one in this years regular season. This year is a big year for rewriting the narrative for Alabama QBs.

Coaches around the league have questioned these three QBs ability to find success in the NFL. Alabama coach, Nick Saban, is optimistic about this season due to the fact that the quarterback coaches and coordinators for these three teams have had great reputations around the league for their ability to find the strengths within each quarterback and built their offense around it. People can be star players in college but sometimes their skills struggle to match up to the NFL. It doesn’t mean they are bad players like everyone thinks, it’s just a whole different way of playing and some people’s games don’t match up to the NFL like they did in college.

At New England however, the Patriots think they have finally found their successor to Tom Brady in Mac Jones. Mac Jones has earn early respect from Bill Belichick which doesn’t happen often. Belichick has been talking highly of the Alabama QB throughout the preseason and has gained the opportunity to start week one for the highly respected coach around the league. Mac Jones has the type of character that allows him to have the ability to be an outstanding QB in the NFL today if he so choses that he wants that.

The possibilities are endless for Mac Jones and it’s going to be up to him and his coaching staff to determine whether or not his career in the NFL is going to be successful or not. Coaches around the league have said many good things about this young QB and his progress through his brief couple months of being in the NFL. So say what you want but this season is going to be a big test for not just Mac Jones but for all three Alabama QBs around the league that are starting week one in the regular season.

Meet My Friend Cooper Christians

Cooper is a sophomore here at Morningside that plans on getting his degree in mass communications. He’s originally from Pocahontas, Iowa which is approximately an hour an a half away from Morningside. Cooper currently does track and field at Morningside. His favorite events that he participates in is 110 high hurdles and high jump. All throughout his life, Cooper has loved anything to do with jumping and eventually found high jumping and hurdling after his friends convinced him to join the track team. He instantly fell in love with the sport due to the amazing atmosphere and the fact that a bunch of his friends were on the team already. Don’t let the whole track label fool you though, as Cooper is the last person you will see running for fun due to the fact that he absolutely dreads running.

Hobbies

While Cooper isn’t doing track he likes to spend his time watching basketball. His favorite team is the Lakers because of Kobe Bryant, can you blame him? When basketball isn’t in season though, he spends his time watching the Colts. He first started watching the Colts because of Peyton Manning but soon grew a love for the team after he left. Some of his other hobbies that he likes to do outdoors is golfing and fishing. Something that he wants to get into is tattoos because he really likes artwork especially Greek mythology type pieces. He also loves collecting Nike brand shoes but his favorite shoe would have to be the Kobe 11 Achilles Heel.

Cooper is very invested in movies and if he had to pick some of his favorites they would have to be Interstellar, The Great Gatsby, and Shutter Island. Aside from movies, he enjoys playing Madden and 2K with the guys.

Cooper says that he lives by this saying ever since he thought of it in his 6th grade art class “Life’s too short to color inside the lines”. Surprisingly however, he’s actually terrible at art and maybe that’s why he doesn’t like staying inside the lines because maybe… he just can’t. Overall, Cooper is a very outgoing person and loves to experience new things on a day-to-day basis.
