Hello Everyone, my name is Dylan Hamil. I’m from Rockford Illinois which is near the border of Wisconsin. Through my 20 years of life I’ve had a quite interesting journey before coming to Morningside University. I plan on getting my degree in Marketing but who knows, that could potentially change. Some things that you should know about me is that I bowl and play volleyball at Morningside. Before coming here I attended a community college near my hometown called Rock Valley College. I spent two years there where I continued my collegiate bowling career leading to a bowling national championship.

Sports

Bowling and volleyball believe it or not weren’t sports even on my mind until high school. I wrestled and played baseball for eight years before changing my mind entering high school. I just lost the passion for the sports, as most people do, so I decided to pick up bowling because my brother was a bowler on the team and my mom has been pushing me to try volleyball ever since I told her I wasn’t trying out for the high school team. After that, things kind of just took off from there and I began to really enjoy these two polar-opposite sports.

Hobbies

Some things I like to do for fun outside of school is softball, golfing, fishing, coaching, hiking and basically anything that deals with being outside. I love to travel with my family whenever I can whether it be a weekend or a month at a time. I hate sitting around, I would much rather have a packed day running around everywhere than be sitting at home for hours on end watching tv or reading a book. The only exception to this playing video games with the guys which doesn’t happen often but sometimes I have no other option.

Home Life

Back at home, I spend a good portion of my time with my family. I have a brother and a step brother that drive me crazy due to the fact that they don’t have an ounce of seriousness in their body. It’s always a interesting time back home but can get very exhausting when spending long periods of time with them. I also have a cat that has been my side since I was three years old that is still full of excitement. I’ve had dogs in the past but my family doesn’t have any at the moment because of how much we travel nowadays. Our favorite place to travel to is Florida due to the warm whether and that our grandparents currently live there.
