Aaron Rodger’s Out for the Season after Achilles Tear

Aaron Rodgers was carted off the field Monday night, tearing his achilles after just three and a half minutes of action.
The four time league MVP was making his debut in a Jets uniform, but will now miss the entire season. Jets fans had hopes that Rodgers would be the missing piece that they needed in order to win a super bowl. Now, they must rely on the hopes of young quarterback Zach Wilson.
The Jets had this to say about Rodgers’ injury, “Not the way any of us wanted it to go, but we know the commitment you’ve made to this team will continue to impact us moving forward.”

I think this article does a good job of emphasizing how big of a loss this is for the Jets. So, this might actually fit the definition of tragic. The build up to Rodgers’ debut, the hopes of Jets fans everywhere, the hubris. Then the downfall. I’m sure some will call this sad, but tragic does fit better.
