At approximately 8:30 pm last night, two men entered “BJ’s” drug store and held the owner at gun point. The men, both wearing ski masks, took $382.65 from the cash register. The robbery was over in less than a minute.

One of the desk sergeants said that the store owner, Barney Joseph Jr., keeps a pistol under the counter but decided not to use it.

When asked about the decision to not use the gun, Joseph said this: “I’d rather part with my money than my life”. An important thing to note is that his father was killed during a holdup nearly 25 years ago, at that same store.

Joseph had this to say regarding his father. “Yes, Dad resisted, I guess. Anyway, they found him shot to death, his own gun in his hand, and a bullet in the store’s ceiling.”

Although Joseph lost the money, he values his life more.

Lots of detail in the first graf, Charlie, but I don’t think the time is the critical fact:

Two men robbed “BJ’s” drug store last night. They held the owner at gun point and escaped with about $400 in less than a minute.
