Eating an Ice Cream Bar

Eating an Ice Cream Bar

When I’m handed an ice cream bar fresh out of the freezer, the hardest thing to do is not open it up right away.  I was handed an ice cream bar in class this morning and the first thing I did was tear it open.  My favorite part of eating an ice cream bar is the first bite.  There is a slight crunching sound and then the cold sensation hits your tongue.  As I make my way down the ice cream bar, the chocolate covering starts to flake off.  If I’m not careful when I bite, the chocolate may start to fall off the ice cream.  On a hot summer day this can be extremely messy to eat.  When I get to the bottom, the ice cream starts to melt and slide right off of the stick.  I am no longer biting the tasty treat, but I am licking or slurping it off of the stick.  Once all of the ice cream and chocolate are gone there is still the chocolate remnants left on the stick.  When I was younger I used to gnaw on the stick until all of the chocolate is gone.  To this day, I still make sure that eat every part of it.

Barack Obama to visit Morningside

Obama to visit campus…

link here

Obama is scheduled to visit campus this Saturday September 1.  This was announced early this week on Monday.  I think that this article is newsworthy.  It is not every day that a Midwest state like Iowa gets the opportunity to have a standing president come and speak.  The last time a current president came was George Bush in 2004.  Basically anything to do with the presidential election lately has been in the news, not that I believe everything about politics in the news.  Whether your vote is for Romney or Obama, this is news for the Sioux City area.
