Gay marriage got legalized in Illinois Tuesday! They are now the 15th state to have legalized same sex marriage. The article I found on it was way to long! I read half of it and quit. The words and “language” they used was way to confusing for me and boring. There was a video before the article that I watched so I still got the information I needed out of the article. They needed to “dumb down” the article because it was a politics topic, and some people just don’t understand politics very well.

    Part of the length issue may be that it is two stories. It begins with the HuffPo story, then tacks on an AP story that adds history and context. I’m not a huge fan of dumbing down, Caitlin, and in this case making it easier to understand would require more words. Hence longer.
