By Patrik Walker

As a huge fan of the Denver Broncos, I felt this was the most fitting article for my first news comment of the semester. This specific article, from Patrik Walker, lists his bold predictions for the Denver Broncos this season. Without further ado, lets dive a little more into his article!

  1. Drew Lock throws for 4,000 yards and 25 touchdowns.

While I would love for this to happen, I think this is out of the realm of possibilities for second year quarterback, Drew Lock. After being placed on IR for the first part of the season, Lock came in to a beaten down Bronco team, winning four of their last five games. Additionally he threw for over 1,000 yards, 7 touchdowns, and brought a completely new energy to the Bronco squad. I love Drew Lock and what he has done with the Broncos so far, but asking for those numbers is a lot to expect from a second year QB that hasn’t even finished a full season yet.

2. Von Miller reaches career-high marks in sacks

I love this prediction and would completely agree with it, if not for the fact that former number 5 overall pick Bradley Chubb will be on the opposite side of Miller this season. I disagree with those that doubt Von Miller because of his age (31) because I still think he has a tremendous amount of fire in him. While he only totaled 8 sacks last year, he still found different ways to make his presence known. I think that Von Miller will have a great year, but I also think that Bradley Chubb will either match or have a better year than Miller.

3. Bradley Chubb gets 15 sacks, Pro Bowl nod

This is a bold prediction that I will firmly stand behind. After tearing his ACL last season, Chubb looks to take the field in week 1 against the Tennessee Titans. While the team suffered from his absence last year, I don’t think it was a total loss. Chubb gained expert advice from 8 time pro bowler Von Miller all season. This year is going to be a fierce competition between Chubb and Miller for sacks and I think Chubb will come out on top.

Who is Chloe Pieper?

Chloe is from Dodge, Nebraska, population around 500 people. She is a sophomore this year at Morningside College and is majoring in communications and criminal justice. At college, she is in a sorority and also works for KMSC. After college, she wants to move to Fort Collins, Colorado, and do something in her major.

Chloe’s favorite color is navy and her favorite show is Criminal Minds. “That is where I got my major from”, she adds. One fun fact about her is she is featured on the Criminal Minds TikTok account and her video has over 400,000 views. Chloe has one brother, senior in high school, and a sister, junior in high school. If she could be in any animal she would either be a Corgi or a Koala Bear. Chloe notes that if she had to rate her clumsiness on a scale of one through ten, she would be a seven.

About Me

My name is Chase Boeve and I am from a small town in northwest Iowa called Pocahontas, which is home to a little over 1,500 people. I mom and dad still live in Pocahontas, while my sister attends Iowa State University. I enjoyed my time in high school graduating with around 50 people and wanted to find a similar experience for college. I chose Morningside because I felt it best represented what it was like for me in high school, although it’s still quite a bit larger!

I am a junior marketing major and am on track to graduate next December. In my free time I like to either play with my dogs, watch sports, listen to podcasts, or play video games. I have two Miniature Schnauzer’s back home named Miles and Winfield. My favorite sports teams are the Minnesota Twins, Denver Broncos, and Colorado Avalanche.

This Summer I spent my time here in Sioux City, working as an intern at Sterling Computers in North Sioux. I worked there for about 3 months and really enjoyed learning the ins and outs of the company. I got very familiar with Excel and Salesforce. I spent most of my time data mining, which was just finding potential customers and organizing their data (data mining sounds cooler).
