Bailey's Babble

From being born in North Carolina at Fort Bragg to moving to Oklahoma, Washington State, Arkansas, and finally Iowa, Katy Hachworh has lived in numerous states. “I was a total army brat.” Katy told me when I was asking her about all the states she lived in. Currently Katy is a sophomore attending Morningside College with a major in Mass Comm. With her major Katy hopes to get a job in media sales or be on GMA and ESPN but for now she’s stuck working at the Library’s front desk and babysitting in her free time. Hackworh says she chose Morningside for the Mass Comm program and also for the competitive cheer team.

Now for some fun facts about Katy. I found it very amusing that for her senior year of high school she had to transfer to a different high. Her high school in Tabor Iowa, a small town of only about 1,000, was shut down because it was to small. So Katy moved to a new school where the graduating class of 2017 had only 24 people. Another interesting fact about Katy is that when she was in middle school she decide to audition for Disney! She was excited to hear that the producer of Transformers actually wanted to fly her down to Florida but she sadly had to decline the offer because she didn’t have enough pocket cash to go there. My most favorite fact about Katy is that she loves to do pageants. As someone who dreamt of doing pageants as a little girl I loved to hear her stories about her wins and titles which include Jr. Miss Great Planes 2017, Miss Riverton, and Princess of America.

After getting to know Katy by being part of the cheer team, I was glad I got this opportunity to sit down and get to know her a little bit more. Katy has a big personality and can always get everyone to smile! I wish Katy luck as she finish college and moves on to the bigger and better things in life!
