Medicating Children for Academic Success

Adderall Broadcast

Adderall being given to children for problems in school, has caused much fury.  Psychology Today says children are being medicated too early.  Psychologists say proper analysis is not being done. Children who are not achieving in school are being given medication in hope to be cured.

Psychologists say there is a check list to go through before agreeing to medication.  A physical and psychological check up is needed.  Check into family and school environments for safety.

After those tests are done give your child the proper help. In some cases medication may truly be needed.  Once this is done the child’s behavior should improve.

Your lead depends on people knowing what adderall is, Natalie. You could be a bit more general and catch people’s attention: “Parents may be overmedicating children.” Then go into the PT story. Give people a “so what” at the end. Probably you will come back to the idea of unnecessary medication: Talk to your doctor. Your child may not need medication.
