Paetongtarn Shinawatra mentioned on Tuesday that her father, Thaksin, would continue his treatment at the Police General Hospital rather than being moved to a private medical facility. However, she expressed concerns about his heart condition. Meanwhile, a political petitioner was planning to approach the Ombudsman to investigate whether Thaksin’s illness was genuinely severe enough for him to remain in the hospital rather than in prison.

Ms. Paetongtarn visited Thaksin at the Police Hospital once again on Tuesday morning. Later, during a press briefing at the Pheu Thai Party headquarters, she informed journalists that her father was still experiencing fatigue and exhaustion but could still engage in conversations with her.She mentioned that Thaksin had been experiencing fatigue and stress since his return to Thailand. The family and reporters learned simultaneously that he had been transferred to the Police General Hospital on the early morning of August 23.

Ms. Paetongtarn explained that Thaksin had contracted Covid-19 prior to the availability of specific medications for the virus. He had spent nine days in an intensive care unit and remained in the hospital for a month. Lingering effects of the illness were still visible in his lungs, she added. Following his initial night at the Bangkok Remand Prison, correctional doctors determined that due to his severe health conditions, Thaksin should be relocated to the Police General Hospital.

The management of the Police General Hospital refuted any claims of providing special treatment to Thaksin on behalf of the authorities.

Hello to professor and all classmates, my name is Winyou Asavaruangchai (I know my last name sounds hard to read, so just call me Winyou) I’m from Thailand, not Taiwan, and most people are confused.

Now, I’m a senior this year and I’m studying marketing as my major and doing sports management as my minor, moreover, I also play tennis for this university. Honestly, I joined this class just because of grade requirements, but deep down inside I still want to learn all things from Morningside and this class as much as possible.

I’m kind of a little bit introverted person, not smoking, not drinking much consistently alcohol, and not joining parties much either. I prefer to enjoy sitting and chilling at the cafe, and of course, I can stay longer in the tennis academy (courts) and gym than all of those things. I’m 21 years old and I don’t have any siblings, I’m the only child in my family. Both my dad and my mom are going to retire from the work, engineering, soon (probably right after I finish here) because they are 55-56 years old now, I think it’s a perfect time for them to stop working and traveling more. I feel like I’m the kind of person who easily gets stressed with everything. However, that’s an advantage for me too, I have been through a lot of hard times which make me getting understood somehow to deal with.

My interviewer’s name is Brian Nathaniel. He is 21 years old and 6’2 feet tall and not really interested in working out. Brian was really truly my first American friend in this town when I came here for my college year. He’s definitely from this place, Sioux City Iowa, that’s why he could pick me up late at night when I arrived. He used to play tennis for Morningside’s tennis team in his freshmen year, and then he changed his sport to lacrosse.

His family is quite big, he is a middle child. He has an older sister who is studying at USD, University of South Dakota, and his younger sister, is schooling in Real Estate. Moreover, he still has 3 members that he never forgets about them, which are a dog and 2 cats, unfortunately, one of his dogs passed away around a year ago. Recently, he’s focusing on studying at college and has had a job at Old Chicago since the last 2 years as well. Even though he says it’s kind of a tough time that he almost finishes college this fall, he is still excited about it. About his plan after college life, he mentioned when we talked that, is totally about selling houses and doing marketing as he has learned for all 4 years of his studies.
