By Iandra Estupinian–<\/strong>Morningside College\u2019s Athletic Department is introducing the new Mustang Sports Show; an informative broadcast for everything that is related to Mustang athletics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sports Information Director, Mark Adkins, is the\nmastermind behind the show and has tasked Mass Communication students and\nsports enthusiasts, senior, Reilly Mahon and junior, Jonathan Covert, to both\nhost and produce the show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMark Adkins had a similar show at the last school he worked at before coming\nto Morningside College,\u201d said Mahon. \u201cIt is important for students to know\nabout the Athletics Department and the athletes themselves to show them that\nthey are students too.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mustang Sports Show is a YouTube channel that keeps\nMorningside students and faculty up-to-date in what\u2019s happening in Morningside\nsports. The channel includes videos of play-by-plays, upcoming game previews,\nand interviews of coaches and athletes who give a deeper insight on what it\u2019s\nlike to play and prepare for their seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Balancing their schoolwork and releasing episodes on a bi-weekly\nschedule, both Mahon and Covert have found that this show has helped them\nprepare more for their future endeavors in sports-related broadcasting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy\nfavorite part of hosting the show is just talking sports,\u201d says Covert. \u201cThis\nis also the career I plan to go to and the show just expands my sports\nknowledge. I think once the show takes off students will like it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mahon\nadded, \u201cMy favorite part of being a host of the Mustang Sports Show is learning\nmany different sports at one time. It makes you think and learn how to remember\nfive to six sports in an episode. I hope that all of the students that watched\nthe show will enjoy it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
