{"id":9938,"date":"2019-04-05T13:36:20","date_gmt":"2019-04-05T18:36:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/?p=9938"},"modified":"2019-11-14T13:58:18","modified_gmt":"2019-11-14T18:58:18","slug":"heartland-coffee-nosh-a-one-of-a-kind-stop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/archives\/9938","title":{"rendered":"Heartland Coffee &amp; Nosh: A One of A Kind Stop"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By Cynthia Monroy&#8211;<\/strong>Everyone has their own to-go place to get their morning coffee, afternoon refresher, or energy booster, but Heartland Coffee &amp; Nosh is proving to be a fan favorite. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heartland Coffee &amp; Nosh is a family-owned food truck that opened in April of 2017. One of the interesting features of the truck is a menu that allows customers to order to-go or have a seat and enjoy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The truck is open all-year and has a widespread following since they participate in events like RAGBRAI, County Fairs, the Sioux City Farmers Market, and Food Truck Fridays. Locally, anyone can find them by viewing their social media pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During lunch I visited the truck, which was stationed in front of Chick-Fil-A. I ordered \u2018The Urban Farmer\u2019 a meal with a mix of mesquite chicken that was so flavorful it left me wanting more. The meal also had slices of pecan wood-smoked bacon, tomatoes, feta cheese and a coleslaw that is topped with their homemade ranch and garlic oil, which was delicious! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/04\/coffeenosh-800x800.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9939\" width=\"502\" height=\"502\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/04\/coffeenosh-800x800.jpg 800w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/04\/coffeenosh-200x200.jpg 200w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/04\/coffeenosh-400x400.jpg 400w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/04\/coffeenosh-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/04\/coffeenosh.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 502px) 100vw, 502px\" \/><figcaption>Photo Courtesy of Coffee &amp; Nosh Facebook page<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The modern black and white food truck is covered with their menu of unique hand-crafted drinks like their popular, colorful, and sweet signature drink, the Lavender Lemonade. They have both warm and cold drinks, with all their syrups made in-house. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team serves healthy\noptions for breakfast and lunch such as the Keto Bowl, Steak &amp; Eggs Bowl,\nVeg Out Bowl, and the Bacon Bowl, which are made with fresh produce from local\nvendors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coffee-lover, Katie Copple, says she not only makes the trip to Coffee &amp; Nosh to purchase her all-time favorite drink, the Lavender Lemonade, but for the hospitality the team, the Orndorff family, gives.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBesides the quality and\ntaste of their food and beverages, the staff is probably the best part of\nCoffee &amp; Nosh and one of the main reasons why I return so often,\u201d Copple\nexplained. \u201cStacey and her team are so personable and know their regulars so\nwell!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/04\/39229055_492552994545278_8074646552087363584_o-800x800.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9940\" width=\"377\" height=\"377\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/04\/39229055_492552994545278_8074646552087363584_o-800x800.jpg 800w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/04\/39229055_492552994545278_8074646552087363584_o-200x200.jpg 200w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/04\/39229055_492552994545278_8074646552087363584_o-400x400.jpg 400w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/04\/39229055_492552994545278_8074646552087363584_o-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/04\/39229055_492552994545278_8074646552087363584_o.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 377px) 100vw, 377px\" \/><figcaption>Photo Courtesy of Coffee &amp; Nosh Facebook page<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Every year, Heartland Coffee\n&amp; Nosh makes new additions to their menu and blends ingredients to create\nthose must-have Instagram worthy drinks.
