It\u2019s easy for college students to get a library card- just bring your student ID and another form of ID with a home address on it to one of the three library locations<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/02\/Library-450x800.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9780\" width=\"253\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/02\/Library-450x800.jpg 450w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/02\/Library-169x300.jpg 169w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/02\/Library-225x400.jpg 225w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/02\/Library.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 253px) 100vw, 253px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>While the public library isn\u2019t much\ndifferent than the HJF Learning Center, it provides a different setting away\nfrom campus and other distractions. The Sioux City Public Library is also a\ngreat studying spot for commuters or those that work somewhere near one of the\nthree locations. They offer many programs ideal for kids and adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Kristina Yezdimer, who\nworks at the public library, \u201cThe Sioux City Public Library has many resources\nthat would be helpful to college students; access to different databases, other\nreference materials, and career resources.\u201d She went on to say that the library\noffers a quiet setting which is great for people to stay focused on their work.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the programs available to\neveryone is the Open Book Club, which is held the first Monday of every month\nto have an active conversation about the current novel. March\u2019s novel is <em>There There <\/em>by Tommy Orange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carol Harder, library assistant,\ndescribed one of the children\u2019s programs the library has available, perfect for\ncollege students and faculty who also have children. \u201cFor younger children, we\nhave the \u201c1000 Books Before Kindergarten\u201d program, where parents read to their\nchildren so the kids have better success in learning to read.\u201d &nbsp;The program tracks the child\u2019s number of books\nthey have been reading and rewards them when a goal has been met. The goal of\nthe program is to instill a \u2018lifelong love of books and reading.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The downtown location is near several\nother great places to check out- the Sioux City Public Museum, Sioux City Art\nCenter, and many local places to eat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The three locations are: Aalfs\nDowntown Library (located on Pierce Street) Perry Creek Branch Library (located\non Hamilton Boulevard) and Morningside Branch Library (located on Morningside\nAvenue).
