This year is the publications 30<sup>th<\/sup>year in circulation. On Thursday 19<sup>th<\/sup> April, the annual reception was held at the Sioux City Art Center.<\/p>\n<p>Local and regional visual artists and writers, alongside the Siouxland community, came together for hors d oeuvres, conversation, art viewing and content readings.<\/p>\n<p>Morningside Professor of Photography Dolie Thompson, whose work alongside her photography student&#8217;s work, is included in the review, commented on the publication and the exhibit.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-9364 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2018\/04\/IMG_8154-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2018\/04\/IMG_8154-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2018\/04\/IMG_8154-200x150.jpg 200w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2018\/04\/IMG_8154-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2018\/04\/IMG_8154-800x600.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Briar Cliff Review is an exciting combination of words and images, similar to the Morningside\u2019s Kiosk publication. The difference is the invitation for acceptance extends to anyone who wishes to enter and it is an opportunity for Morningside students who enter and get accepted to have their artwork displayed in the Sioux City Art Center.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The artworks featured in the exhibition are as a result of a collaboration by art editor of the Briar Cliff Review and associate professor of art Jeff Baldus, and Todd Behrens, curator of the Sioux City Art Center.
