by Mitch Kellogg\u2013<\/strong>It wouldn\u2019t be a proper Homecoming without the Mustangs capping off an amazing week of fun\u2013filled activities with football game victory at Elwood\u2013Olsen Stadium.<\/p>\n

The Mustangs faced off with the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers, whose high powered offense is one of the top in the nation. Though our own Morningside Mustangs are also one of the top teams in the nation as well, and currently ranked fourth in the NAIA polls.<\/p>\n

The game resulted in an all-to-familiar fashion as the Mustangs routed Dakota Wesleyan with a score of 76\u201321.<\/p>\n

The Mustangs, who just came off a big win against the Red Raiders of Northwestern to spoil their homecoming, were able to do what they pleased it seemed against the Tigers.<\/p>\n

The Stangs were able to keep their undefeated season intact as they seek a seventh consecutive GPAC(Great Plains Athletic Conference) championship.<\/p>\n

The Homecoming game was not only a time to come and cheer on our team to victory but also a time for family and alumni of years past to come and partake in the timeless party of tailgating and swapping stories of years past and memories shared both on and off the field.<\/p>\n

The football team was not the only team to play on Saturday as both the women\u2019s soccer and volleyball teams played as well.<\/p>\n

The women\u2019s soccer team faced off against St. Mary\u2019s and was bested by a score of 1\u20134. The volleyball team took on cross town rival Briar Cliff in a \u201cBattle for Sioux City.\u201d The Mustangs were able to best the Chargers of Briar Cliff in four sets.<\/p>\n
