It is called disk \u201cgolf\u201d because just like golf, a player tries to have the least number a throws during a round. Disk golf courses typically have 9 or 18 holes, and they can vary greatly in difficulty.<\/p>\n

Sioux City has four main disk golf courses. I asked Morningside disk golfers what their favorite course was and why to discover which one was the best course in town.<\/p>\n

There is a 9-hole course on WIT\u2019s campus, which is located at 4647 Stone Avenue, Sioux City, IA 51106. This is the closest course to Morningside\u2019s campus, and it is a great course for beginners and intermediates.<\/p>\n

Logan Anderson is an avid disk golfer, and the WIT course is definitely his favorite.<\/p>\n

He says, \u201cI like WIT\u2019s Frisbee golf course the most because it\u2019s well maintained and close to campus.\u201d<\/p>\n

Josh Doering also thinks WIT has the best course. He enjoys that diversity of short vs. long holes, and the added advantage of seeing possible wildlife like deer or turkeys.<\/p>\n

He explains, \u201cWIT is my favorite course because of the open environment because you don\u2019t have to worry about losing disks or searching through forest and weeds.\u201d<\/p>\n

Crystal Cove Park has an 18-hole course, and it\u2019s located at W 39th St, South Sioux City, NE 68776. This course is pretty far from campus with an approximate 16-minute drive.<\/p>\n

Nic Madsen enjoys challenging disk golf, which is why Crystal Cove is his favorite course in town.<\/p>\n

He said the biggest plus is that it\u2019s 18 holes, and \u201cI usually play 9-hole courses twice because they just aren\u2019t long enough, but Crystal Cove has 18 holes. Also it\u2019s more challenging than most other courses that I\u2019ve played.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dylan Casper says that he also prefers to play at Crystal Cove. He enjoys that it\u2019s a challenging 18-hole course with varying wind conditions.<\/p>\n

He adds, \u201cIt\u2019s one of the best maintained courses in town.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grandview Park is a new 9-hole course located at Grandview Park in Sioux City. It is a moderately hilly course with short hole distances.<\/p>\n

Nic Madsen says, \u201cIt\u2019s a nice course, but it\u2019s definitely for beginners. I\u2019m not a fan of the 100 ft holes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sertoma Park is a 9-hole course located at Singing Hills Blvd, Sioux City, IA 51106. The course is hilly with a lot of variation.<\/p>\n

Matthew Hermelbracht is a Sioux City native who has been disk golfing for years. He says, \u201cMy favorite place to go is Sertoma because it scenic and well kept.\u201d<\/p>\n

No matter what your skill level is, you can find a great place to go disk golfing in Sioux City. It is a widely popular hobby that is great in spring and summer weather.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
