A topic most people try to avoid, but one that Gender Undone chose to embrace whole-heartedly.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-8673\" src=\"http:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2017\/04\/Gender-Undone-400x122.png\" alt=\"Gender Undone\" width=\"400\" height=\"122\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2017\/04\/Gender-Undone-400x122.png 400w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2017\/04\/Gender-Undone-200x61.png 200w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2017\/04\/Gender-Undone-768x233.png 768w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2017\/04\/Gender-Undone-800x243.png 800w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2017\/04\/Gender-Undone.png 819w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/>From March 13<sup>th<\/sup> to April 13<sup>th<\/sup> Gender Undone collected period products for the Siouxland Warming Shelter, an emergency shelter for those in need.<\/p>\n<p>Over 200 individually wrapped products were collected as a result of this drive.<\/p>\n<p>The warming shelter was chosen as their organization because of what it provides.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[The Warming Shelter] Is run solely on charitable donations, and we felt as though we could contribute to them in our own unique way, \u201cstudent coordinator Celia McGaffey explained.<\/p>\n<p>McGaffey believes students should care about this event because it\u2019s an easy way to give back to the community and help those in need.<\/p>\n<p>Her passion concerning this cause sparked her to create this event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is very difficult of those with lower income and in states where they need to go to places like the warming shelters to afford period products, but they are a necessity.\u00a0It is also difficult for a shelter to budget these products into their supply budget as it means they have to sacrifice other goods like food,\u201d said McGaffey.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(4.24.17) By Maggie Ganley &#8211; Menstruation.
