The choirs in this concert were the Morningside College Choir, the Siouxland Master Chorale, Bel Canto Women\u2019s Chorus, the Eclectix Jazz Choir, and the Singing Men of Morningside.<\/p>\n<p>The choirs each sang a few pieces alone, and at the end of the concert they combined to create the Morningside College Choral Union, performing \u201cBattle Hymn of the Republic\u201d as their last piece, receiving a standing ovation from the audience.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the concert each choir performed on their own and together, with some of the pieces performed throughout the concert being easily recognizable while others were more obscure.<\/p>\n<p>The Morningside College Choir and the Siouxland Master Chorale first combined to perform \u201cCindy,\u201d followed by the Siouxland Master Chorale with \u201cThe Pasture\u201d and \u201cChing-A-Ring-Chaw.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Bel Canto Women\u2019s Chorus performed \u201cJohnny said \u2018No!\u2019\u201d and \u201cThe Turtle Dove.\u201d\u00a0 The Eclectix Jazz Choir then performed \u201cYou\u2019d Be So Nice To Come Home To,\u201d \u201cHallelujah\u201d and \u201cFly Me To The Moon\u201d.\u00a0 The Singing Men of Morningside followed up with \u201cRawhide\u201d and \u201cDown in the Valley.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Morningside College Choir finished the solos with \u201cThe Gift To Be Simple,\u201d \u201cEvery Night [When the Sun Goes Down],\u201d and \u201cO Salutaris Hostia.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(03.21.2017) By Tabatha Storesund &#8212;\u00a0The choirs of Morningside College and Siouxland sang at a concert on Sunday, March 19, 2017, receiving a standing ovation for their performance.
