Johannesson, announced he would ban pineapple on pizza if he could. With all of this attention placed on a pizza topping, we wondered what people at Morningside College thought about it.

Some people find pineapple delicious, like student Megan Bush, who says, “I love pineapple on pizza. It’s the best when it’s with ham.”

Rachel DeJong, a first year sophomore, also declared her enthusiasm for the fruit, “I love it. It’s the best.”

Madison Schueth, a freshman, says of the pizza topping, “Pineapple does go on pizza. I hate pineapple but I love it on pizza.

Others weren’t so enthusiastic, but still for the topping, like senior Morgan O’ Malley, “I like it. I don’t typically order it but I do like it I guess.”

Engels Perez, a freshman, is caught in the middle of the debate: “I have mixed feelings about it. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad.” Another student, Stephanie Stabile, added to Perez’s comments saying, “Yeah, do it. It depends on what pizza place you go to and what kind of crust you get, but it’s usually good. It just depends.”

With all of this pineapple positivity, some students are adamantly against putting fruit anywhere on a pizza. Sophomore Austin Norton says, “It’s horrible, it’s disgusting, and it should never have been done. It’s blasphemy.”

Sophomore Brock Bourek says, “You would have to enjoy pineapple first.”

Others echoed his thoughts, like students Chaylee Beeck and Nicole Langbein who said they personally don’t like it and don’t think fruit should be put on a pizza.

So there you have it. Always ask your friends if they want pineapple before ordering a pizza together.

(2.24.2017) By Lindsey Smith–In recent news, the President of Iceland, Gudni Th.
