The most difficult part of any trip is packing. Here are a few tips and tricks to help a spring breaker pack efficiently.

First off, don’t over pack. It is a good idea to be prepared for situations that may come up during a trip. Be conscious of what your plans are for your vacation and pack accordingly. If need be, you can always purchase small items when you get to your destination. Also, bring only one or two bottoms that can be paired with different tops to make different outfits instead of bringing five separate outfits.

Secondly, don’t under pack. Think you’ll only need seven pair of socks because you’re staying seven days? What if those socks get wet or ripped? For some items, it is acceptable to pack extra—certain hygiene items go without saying. There is nothing wrong with being prepared, especially if you are travelling somewhere with unfamiliar weather patterns. Even if you are going somewhere warm, it may get cold during the night or it could rain.

Lastly, don’t wait until the last minute. Don’t wait to start packing until three hours before the plane is scheduled to leave. Packing quickly leads to throwing everything within an arm’s reach into a bag. When you arrive to your destination, you might find that you packed three belts but no toothbrush or underwear. It’s smarter to plan out in advance what should be packed. Some things can be packed early, but others have to be packed last minute—such as a toothbrush or perishable items. Create a list of what you will need and when you are going to pack it.

These tips can help get your Spring Break to a relaxing start.
