They will be collecting them until April 15<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>One dollar donated towards the scholarship fund gets the student\u2019s name put into a drawing for a 50-dollar gift card to the bookstore. There are five gift cards that will be drawn for. The student\u2019s name gets entered in the drawing for every dollar donated.<\/p>\n<p>If Student Philanthropy can get half of the student body\u2014600 students\u2014to donate, there is an anonymous donor who will contribute an additional $50,000 to Morningside College\u2019s scholarship fund for next semester.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign goes through April 15<sup>th<\/sup>, with the winners for the bookstore gift cards announced the next day. Students may donate by contacting a member of Student Philanthropy.<\/p>\n<p>Student Philanthropy began this campaign last year in order to \u201cfoster philanthropic spirit among students by providing opportunities for students to help both on campus and off campus.\u201d Molli Ginger, advisor of the Student Philanthropy Group said, for the anonymous donor of the $50,000, this campaign is important in order to \u201ceducate the students on what one component of philanthropy is [but] there are many other ways to give back; time, talent, and money.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Students that donated their class year in dollars received a Morningside Mustang window decal and helped their class win the competition.
