\"\"<\/a>By Paige Potter–<\/strong>On Friday night, the 17\u00a0<\/span>annual Christmas at Morningside took place in Eppley Auditorium.\u00a0 With a house full, the show started at 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

Steve Lundberg, professor in the music department, welcomed everyone to the show and had a few reminders for the crowd.<\/p>\n

The show began with the band and choir doing a fanfare of \u201cBreak Forth O Heavenly Light,\u201d a song recently written and Morningside College being the first to perform it.\u00a0 Composer, Ben Alloway, was in attendance as well.<\/p>\n

Thursday night, Mr. Alloway came to the dress rehearsal and went over a few spots in the piece.\u00a0 It was a great experience for the members of the band and choir to be able to work with a composer, let alone the one that wrote the piece.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>After the fanfare the choir sang a few more songs; the band then played some on their own.\u00a0 Each of the choirs sang some on their own too.\u00a0 The last song was the full piece of \u201cBreak Forth O Heavenly Light\u201d where the Mass Choir, the band, and an organ played together.<\/p>\n

When the song was over, as a singer, it was an incredible feeling, facing 1300 people while they are standing and applauding you.\u00a0 This was my second Christmas at Morningside and no matter how many more I do; this performance will be the most incredible feeling every single time.<\/p>\n

Christmas at Morningside sets the mood for the Christmas season.\u00a0 If you couldn\u2019t make it this year, mark it down on your calendar for next year.\u00a0 You won\u2019t regret it.<\/p>\n
