{"id":4240,"date":"2012-09-30T13:07:23","date_gmt":"2012-09-30T18:07:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/?p=4240"},"modified":"2012-09-30T13:18:22","modified_gmt":"2012-09-30T18:18:22","slug":"homecoming-is-near","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/archives\/4240","title":{"rendered":"Homecoming is near"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Paige Potter\u2014<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The red carpet to Hollywood will be laid on October 8<sup>th<\/sup> as Morningside kicks off its week of homecoming.<\/p>\n<p>The week is full activities for students to take part.\u00a0 Monday night there is an interactive game show, Think Fast, where the winner will receive $200 as the prize.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday night, the movie \u201cThe Avengers\u201d will be playing on the blow up screen in Yockey at 8:00 P.M.<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday night is Mr. and Mrs. Morningside at 8 P.M. in Eppley, which is put on the Morningside cheer team.<\/p>\n<p>Thursday night is coronation and the talent show at 8 P.M. in Eppley.\u00a0 Coronation will be first with the talent show following shortly after.\u00a0 The homecoming court will be made up with two representatives from the freshman, sophomore, and junior class and there will be five girls and five guys from the senior class. \u00a0On Thursday night, students will find out who will be named the king and queen of the senior class. \u00a0Voting for any of the candidates will take place on October 1<sup>st<\/sup>, 2<sup>nd<\/sup>, and the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> during the lunch and supper hours.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday night MAC is hosting Pack the Stands in Allee gym as the volleyball takes on Doane College.\u00a0 Prizes will be thrown out such as key chains, magnetic clips, smoothie cards to the Spoonholder, and an assortment of DVDs.\u00a0\u00a0 The game begins at 7:30 P.M.<\/p>\n<p>To wrap the week up, the football game begins on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. when the Mustangs take on Dakota Wesleyan.\u00a0 Following the game \u201cTaste of Morningside\u201d will be available for people to grab something to eat.\u00a0 At 9:00 P.M., the dance will start for students.\u00a0 It will be held in South Sioux City, Nebraska at the Marina Inn.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">&#8212;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Paige Potter\u2014 The red carpet to Hollywood will be laid on October 8th as Morningside kicks off its week of homecoming.
