On behalf of Campus Ministries, Jessica Boschen who is in her fourth year at Morningside College and looking at graduating in May, asked for $3,500 to help fund a mission trip to Alabama. Currently 19 students are looking at going. Each student is paying $300, and there has been fundraisers to also help pay for the trip.<\/p>\n
Before voting, Cassie Burnside, Apartments\/Garretson Houses representative, gave testimonial to Campus Ministries Mission the previous year, \u201cI went on last years trip and it was not only fun but a real eye opening experience as well.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sophomore Senate Representative Ashleigh Starr motioned to allocate the $3,500 asked to help fund the Campus Ministries mission trip, which will take place over Spring Break. Mary Froeschl seconded the motion and it was passed.<\/p>\n
Morningside campus\u2019s radio station KMSC Fusion 93, also presented to student government asking for $1,846.24 in funding. Nick Brinks and Ryan Tellinghuisen explained the money would go towards sending two students heavily involved in KMSC to New York on behalf of Morningside College.<\/p>\n
The campus radio station is up for three awards at the conference competition: Best Promo, Best Broadcast, and Best Public Service Announcement.\u00a0 Starr again moved to allocate the $1,846.24. The motion was approved.<\/p>\n
Treasurer Taylor Chapman, reported that MAC has spent is $76,457.00 with $21,925.00 contracted and a balance of $2,853.00 left after contracts. Student Government has a balance of $24,687.18 with $7,992.95 left to allocate, prior to the two funds they approved for KMSC and Campus Ministries in the meeting.<\/p>\n
