However, the Mustangs are 2-1 in the GPAC and have a promising month of tennis ahead of them.<\/p>\n<p>Next on the schedule is intercity rival Briar Cliff. The Chargers are 1-2 on the year with a conference record of 1-1. The matchup is Thursday, April 14, at 4 pm. If the weather does not cooperate, the match will be moved from the Lewis Park courts to the Four Season Health Club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey have some good new players and I know the coaches are great, so I\u2019m thinking they might be better than they have been,\u201d freshman Mustang Austin Grundy said.<\/p>\n<p>Morningside pulled out an 8-1 victory when the two teams met last season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m very familiar with their coach, Justin Junck, who\u2019s a great coach and has been working hard with their team,\u201d said sophomore Reid Rosen, who holds Morningside\u2019s #2 varsity slot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBriar Cliff lost to us last year but that doesn\u2019t mean we shouldn\u2019t be ready. It\u2019ll be a good meet and I\u2019m looking forward to playing at home,\u201d added Rosen.<\/p>\n<p>Morningside head coach Larry Mason stressed how he hopes his players stay loose, but really bring it against conference opponents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want the team to be more consistent during the GPAC portion of the schedule.
