By Katie Miller — <\/strong>The Morningside University of Visual and Performing Arts will present the All-America Concert Band in its upcoming performance, Voices of America, on Sunday, February 23, at 3 p.m. in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave. Admission will be free and a family-friendly event open to those on campus and Sioux City\u2019s community.<\/p>\n\n\n

Under the direction of Dr. Christopher Brandt, the concert will demonstrate America\u2019s musical history through a variety of pieces: Black Granite by James Hosay, inspired by the Vietnam Memorial; A Movement for Rosa by Mark Camphouse, dedicated to civil rights activist Rosa Parks; and the famous Stars and Stripes Forever by John Philip Sousa. Other works composed by Percy Grainger, Frank Ticheli, Omar Thomas, and Christopher Nelson will also be performed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
