Morningside’s rally fell short in a 48\u201345 loss to Benedictine in the season opener.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Behind 21\u20133 after the first 12 minutes, Morningside (no. 10) battled back to take a 45\u201341 lead over Benedictine with 3:31 on the clock. The rally fell short, however, as the Ravens struck back, and the Mustangs’ final drive fell short at the 1\u2013yard line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Morningside will next be at Concordia Sept. 7. The Bulldogs topped Waldorf University 45\u20137 in their season debut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
