He also earned the distinction of giving the most tours of any ambassador this year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSharing the experiences I\u2019ve had over the past four years has to be my favorite part about the job,\u201d Hinders said. \u201cI also love meeting new people and getting to learn a little bit about them during the tours.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Steph Peters, Associate Vice President of Admissions, had only good things to say when asked about Hinders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe can sell ice to an Eskimo,\u201d Peters said. \u201cHe\u2019s super personable. He\u2019s the kid who can talk to anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Peters also described what the office looks for when deciding who will earn the award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe look for someone who is reliable, shows up consistently, and always volunteers when something needs to be done,\u201d Peters said. \u201cWe also look at the feedback we get from the tours.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Betsy Chilton, Assistant Director of Admissions who oversees the ambassador program, gave high praise to Hinders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think there is one person who saw when Braxton won the award that thought he shouldn\u2019t have earned it,\u201d Chilton said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to giving tours to prospective students, he also gave tours to two out of the three university presidential candidates when they came to campus.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe will be good at whatever he does,\u201d Chilton said. \u201cWe\u2019re happy for him, but we\u2019re sad he\u2019s graduating. We are going to miss him for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chilton also made sure to note the office of admissions is on the lookout for more student ambassadors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe always are looking for people to come and work as an ambassador.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Caleb Lubbers&#8211;The Morningside University Office of Admissions announced the winner of the Ambassador of the Year award on Wednesday: senior Braxton Hinders.
