by Chloe Krommendyk–<\/strong>Four of the men finished in the top 6 in their most recent tournament in Orange City, IA, at Landsmeer Golf Club on April 16. The win established a new team record of 272 (12 under par).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senior Sam Storey led the team once again, shooting an impressive 66, 5 under par, landing himself in second place. Close behind him was senior Jonny Douglas, who shot 3 under par, 68. Junior Jackson Sitzmann and senior Xan Milligan both shot 69, 2 under par. Freshman Mason Weeks was not far behind the rest of the team shooting an even 71.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was an incredible day in some seriously trying conditions. It was a great confidence builder for the final portion of the GPAC Championship next Friday and Saturday in Vermillion,\u201d said Head Coach Nick Wanderscheid.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 272 team score was nine strokes ahead of the runner\u2013up in Northwestern College\u2019s Red Raider Cup. But more exciting was the new program record set for one-round tournament play. The team was unaware of this record until after the round, having to double check to make sure it was true.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team hopes to continue to play at this level as they take on their final two rounds of the 2021-22 season at the GPAC Championships. This will take place on Friday and Saturday, April 22 and 23 at Bluffs Golf Course in Vermillion, SD.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
