by Caleb Lubbers–This year\u2019s N.B.A. All-Star Weekend concluded this past weekend, and it left a bad impression with many fans who tuned in to watch it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year\u2019s events were held in Cleveland, Ohio. The weekend is filled with events showcasing the best players in the league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The AT&T Slam Dunk Contest, which took place on Saturday, received negative reactions from many fans. N.B.A. legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who was in attendance, walked out early from the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cooper Christians, a sophomore, said, \u201cThe dunk contest left a lot to be desired. The players were not very creative with their dunks and ended up using a lot of \u2018recycled material\u2019 that we had all seen before.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jacob Heitshusen, another sophomore, said, \u201cIt seemed the players were not prepared to do the dunks, and I wish there were more big-name players in the contest.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bryce Kremer, a junior, said, \u201cI honestly think there were better dunks in the All-Star Game than the dunk contest.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As for the actual All-Star Game, reactions seemed to be more positive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t think it was very exciting until Steph Curry started hitting shots left and right from Timbuktu and everywhere beyond,\u201d Christians said. \u201cUnlike the Pro-Bowl in the N.F.L., basketball players actually try because they are playing for charity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ridge Hoffman, a sophomore, said, \u201cThe intensity this year was much better than last year\u2019s game.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, there were others who were indifferent to the weekend\u2019s events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tate Kounkel, a sophomore, said, \u201cTo be honest, I couldn\u2019t care less about the whole All-Sar Weekend. I didn\u2019t watch a single event.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
