We didn\u2019t want our TikTok to be as curated as Instagram because it\u2019s a more organic and fun platform,\u201d Enrollment &amp; Digital Creative Coordinator, Tasha Goodvin said. \u201cWe knew a student would be able to deliver that because they are living the Morningside experience.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Roggenbuck caught their eye as a good candidate for the position when one of his art pieces was published in&nbsp;<em>the Kiosk<\/em>. The caption of his photo detailed that he had gone viral after posting a video that showed his art process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe first heard about Caleb when he got first place in the Kiosk for his artwork,\u201d Goodvin said. \u201cAfter talking with some of our other interns, we heard Caleb creates really engaging TikToks. I reached out to him with an opportunity to potentially come work in University Engagement creating TikToks and helping with some graphic design projects. I\u2019m also very extra and a perfectionist when it comes to stuff like this, so people can only expect good things from me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Morningside\u2019s TikTok intern, Roggenbuck is tasked with making videos that highlight special events and opportunities, along with daily ones that show his life as a Mside student.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m excited to make hype videos and edits for various sports teams,\u201d Roggenbuck said. \u201cI\u2019ll be doing fun and random videos depending on what\u2019s trending.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though Roggenbuck has experience making videos that gain something exposure, he knows that the videos he creates for the school will be vastly different than those he creates on his personal page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2021\/10\/IMG_8153-200x283.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13759\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Morningside account is brand new so starting over with zero followers makes it hard to get the views that I\u2019m used to. It took me months to get to the number of followers and consistent views that I have. However, Tik Tok is cool because literally anything can go viral and really only takes one video to increase your page,\u201d Roggenbuck said. \u201cI [also] have to consider that I am representing the university. I have to make sure everything looks nice and is appropriate for a school.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So far, Roggenbuck has posted six different videos on TikTok that include a promotional video for senior visit days, a tour of Morningside\u2019s nicest sights, and a short hype video for football, amongst some others.
