{"id":13473,"date":"2021-09-13T18:00:15","date_gmt":"2021-09-13T23:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/?p=13473"},"modified":"2021-09-14T12:08:19","modified_gmt":"2021-09-14T17:08:19","slug":"annual-activities-fair-is-huge-hit-post-covid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/archives\/13473","title":{"rendered":"Annual Activities Fair is huge hit, post-COVID"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By Kassidy Hart&#8211;<\/strong> Morningside students from all different groups on campus came together to represent and gain exposure at the annual activities fair on Wednesday, September 1, down the Hilker Campus Mall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cApproximately thirty different student organizations were in attendance,\u201d Student Government Director of Communications, Collin Adank, said. \u201cI am unsure and would be afraid to guess [how many students showed up], however, it was a great turnout. It was so good to see students interacting again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Groups were invited to claim a table and create displays with awards and accomplishments, to reach new students on campus and provoke interest in membership. Orientation was a bit different this year, as the Marketing department planned multiple activities, like bringing in local food trucks and hosting a scavenger hunt with prizes, to get freshmen comfortable on campus before classes started. In the future, student government, with the help from University Engagement, Student Life, and Central Scheduling, and the physical plant, hopes to have even more groups on campus participate.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt would be neat to have 100% student group attendance. However, due to scheduling that is not always feasible,\u201d Adank said. \u201c[Also, e]nhancing the event to become not just the student event but also a community event. I enjoyed seeing some faculty and staff interacting with student groups at the fair this year.
