The show, which takes place every other year, consists of art work completed by Morningside alumni who graduated with a degree in photography, graphic design, studio art, or art education.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s show features twelve artists whose graduation years vary from 1989 to 2019, with each artist displaying art that is varying in style and medium. The piece, that was created using a process of encaustic (painting with hot wax and pigment) on a wooden stump, was created by Anderson to \u201cremind all of [her] students that creating can have a positive impact on their emotions.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lesley Valerio Chairez, a junior art education major, said \u201cThe alumni art show is a great opportunity for both graduated students to show their art and for current students to become inspired by the art.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;Chairez went on to say that her favorite part of the show is the variety of different pieces to look at and study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you would like to check out the Alumni Art Show, it will be up until November 8 in the Eppley Art Gallery, which is open Monday through Friday, 8am \u2013 5pm.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Tracie Tuttle&#8211;The Morningside Alumni Art Show is currently on display in the Eppley Art Gallery.
