But what draws college students, even students from Vermillion, South Dakota, to this church\u2019s college ministry night?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a full chapel, Tuesday, Oct. 8&#8217;s session of food, fellowship, and games drew students out of their dorms for an 8 p.m. service. Pastor Matt Holmesand a worship team add to the once-a-month ministry\u2019s attraction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/10\/united-night2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/10\/united-night2-800x490.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10555\" width=\"291\" height=\"178\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/10\/united-night2.jpg 800w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/10\/united-night2-200x123.jpg 200w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/10\/united-night2-400x245.jpg 400w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/10\/united-night2-768x470.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 291px) 100vw, 291px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI first went to United Night as a way to grow in my faith outside of just going to church on Sundays,\u201d Kenny Osten, a junior, said. \u201cBut the Chick-fil-A didn\u2019t hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grace Nordquist, a Morningside senior, said, \u201cMy friends who had gone before me brought me to United Night, and I wanted to get connected with a campus ministry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wanting to grow faith and get connected with some kind of ministry are common themes of those who attend. What keeps students coming back are the connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGrowing my faith with other college students is an awesome experience,\u201d Nordquist said. \u201cI look forward to United Night every month. It\u2019s one of my favorite nights.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Osten said, \u201cSunnybrook has become a second home for me. It\u2019s a place that is truly accepting of everybody.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pastor Holmes recently spoke on God\u2019s love and forgiveness, and focused Tuesday\u2019s talk on what he called \u201cauthentically biblical communities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy hope for tonight is that everyone here, everyone hearing my voice tonight,\u201d Holmes said, \u201cwill leave knowing how to get plugged in with a community.
