Co-Vice President\u2019s, Abby Koch and Tim Sibbel, hoped this partnership would change the way Morningside students understood their impact on the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe hoped that&nbsp;the new sign up process and the way Tim and I approached the event would let it be more streamlined and have more of an impact on the community,\u201d Koch said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sibbel said, \u201cI hope this partnership will also allow us to track our impact from year to year so we can see how we can change or continue what we are achieving.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Though Into the Streets has been one of Morningside\u2019s largest events since its start, its results haven\u2019t been truly evident to the students.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Koch said, \u201cThis year we will be able to see the dollar amount of impact on the community because of our partnership.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c[Volunteer Siouxland] will&nbsp;track our monetary work to see the full impact of what volunteering does,\u201d Sibbel said, \u201cwhich can lead students to consider volunteering in separate activities outside of Into the Streets itself.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cInto the Streets had an impact of about $65,000 this year,\u201d Sibbel continued, \u201cWe were able to track that for the first time to see what volunteering does for the Siouxland community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Future events will continue tracking the effect of Into the Streets, and future co-Vice Presidents will also be able to address potential event issues through this partnership.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Mari Pizzini&#8211;Morningside College\u2019s all-campus volunteer day, Into the Streets, was held on Wednesday, October 2.
