The broadcast will feature over 15 radio personalities throughout the day, sharing their thoughts and music tastes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/10\/unnamed-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/10\/unnamed-4-200x213.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10473\" width=\"271\" height=\"289\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/10\/unnamed-4-200x213.jpg 200w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/10\/unnamed-4-376x400.jpg 376w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/10\/unnamed-4.jpg 458w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 271px) 100vw, 271px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>College Radio Day is an annual celebration on the first Friday in October, according to KMSC Station Manager Dylan Ferguson. \u201cIt is put on the College Radio Foundation, which is an organization that helps bring awareness to college radio stations. It\u2019s their celebration of what makes college radio great and a big celebration of college radio,\u201d explained Ferguson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>College Radio Day celebrates college radio\u2019s freedom, according to Promo Director Mari Pizzini. \u201cCollege radio allows students to have an outlet to speak about what they want to speak about and play what they want to play. It also allows a learning experience for someone that is interested in mass media and it gives an idea of what mass media is,\u201d stated Pizzini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with celebrating the day by broadcasting from 8am to 8pm on the HJF Library patio, KMSC has special segments throughout the day. One of the special segments is broadcasting the national special from the College Radio Foundation featuring The Black Keys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pizzini appreciates College Radio Day for the interaction it gives with fellow students. \u201cI think the reason why I think College Radio Day is special is the fact we can get students around Morningside involved,\u201d said Pizzini, \u201cIt is visibility for us so people can see what we do and how we do it.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People can tune in to KMSC using the RadioFX app or clicking the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/shoutcast.morningside.edu:8000\/KMSC-Music.m3u\">link<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Abby Koch&#8211;KMSC is prepping for a 12-hour remote broadcast to celebrate College Radio Day.
