Now Morningside seniors are preparing to walk the graduation stage and collecting their degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With everything that ends, there must be new\nbeginnings. For these seniors, that means taking that next big step and\nentering the real world to find a job or new home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Luckily for Krista Waite, her future job is right\nhere on Morningside\u2019s campus in Sioux City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After double majoring in non-profit management with an emphasis in human services and religious studies, Waite has accepted a position as the new Director of Christian Education at Grace United Methodist Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She received the news at the beginning of May\nand has been working closely with the church and Campus Ministry to prepare for\nthe next school year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/05\/Krista-600x800.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10017\" width=\"293\" height=\"391\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/05\/Krista-600x800.jpg 600w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/05\/Krista-200x267.jpg 200w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/05\/Krista-300x400.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/05\/Krista-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/thecr\/files\/2019\/05\/Krista.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 293px) 100vw, 293px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI have been involved with the church and have taught youth group since Fall of 2017,\u201d says Waite. \u201cWhen I officially begin as director in June, I will work with the youth group, Sunday school. Confirmation, and different activities with both young and college students,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grace United Methodist Church offers many resources, such as weekend services, work-study, Campus Ministry, Sunday school, Midnight Breakfast, and Bible Study for young adults, college students, and adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With Grace United offering these services,\nWaite will have a lot of responsibilities, but is confident that her majors\nhave prepared her for this position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe classes that I have taken were more about different religions and had a few lessons in Christianity. I\u2019m not too prepared with Christianity but I think that the Non-Profit Management will help me with the &#8216;many hats&#8217; portion of the jobs and activities I have to do,\u201d said Waite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Waite wants to improve the involvement of the\nyounger generation and Morningside students with the church when school starts\nagain. She believes both students and adults can learn a lot from religion and\nwhat it has to offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Waite is happy to meet with students or adults\nto answer questions about her position or just to have a conversation.
