This was provoked by Chris Rock making a joke about Jada Smith. This is an old story but I wanted to talk about how Will Smith handled it. Not really the slap part, but the aftermath. Will Smith was silent for 8 months after the slap, then came out with a terrible “apology” video. This is a common thing to see on the internet. An “influencer” does something wrong, then they make the most unbelievable and unremorseful apology video you could ever imagine. Whenever this happens it leaves a terrible stain on the person’s carrier. And Will Smith did a little oopsie and followed up after everyone forgot about it. 8 months is a long time in internet time and the “apology” was long over due. If you notice I put the word apology in quotations, because it doesn’t seem that Will Smith is sorry.

WILL SMITH IS FORGIVING HIMSELF FOR “BEING HUMAN,” EIGHT MONTHS AFTER THE SLAP https://www.mic.com/culture/will-smith-slap-trevor-noah-emancipation I’m sure I don’t need to explain this, but Will Smith went on stage and slapped Chris Rock across the face at the oscars.
