Errant message of ‘shots fired’ sends scare through metro Detroit university

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/errant-message-shots-fired-sends-scare-metro-detroit-150751632.html

This article is about a college sending out a fake school shooting alarm to the police on accident. The whole school got a message from the police station saying there was a shooter on campus. Kids and their parents started to freak out. It says the cause and person who did it are still under investigation.

I think this article has good news value because it is a rare story.I have never heard of this happening before. I think people would find it interesting to read. I think a couple of the quotes were not very good. I think when they asked the mom a question her answer was pretty boring and there wasn’t much to it. I think they could of talked to more students or staff as well. To figure out the cause.

The next generation of false alarms. These will probably become more common unless a way of confirming the ID of the caller is developed. You’re right: Some boring quotes.
