Nothing Can Replace a Tree

I thought this ad was cool because the picture shows the message without the need of words.  The claim that this ad is showing is that nothing can replace a tree.  The reason is that people cut down trees.  The warrant is that people cut down trees in order to make room for other things.  Many times, cities or even towns try to make themselves look natural.  For example, in this ad, there is a pole with a shadow of a tree.  The pole is something you would see in any city, but before the city was there, there were probably many trees.  This ad just simply says that deforestation is bad.

My position on JWL and the most recent ALCU lawsuit

My position on JWL is probably somewhat different than most.  Maybe this is just because I’m a nice person.  He was indeed a terrorist and did a very sketchy thing.  However, the fact that he was muslim before he went in the army makes it seem a little more okay.  It’s almost like a case of stockholm syndrome or whatever that is where kidnappers start to believe that their kidnapper isn’t all that bad.  He was just over there and decided that he liked their side better than ours.  It was, however, horrible that he turned against his country and gave them information on what we were doing.

As far as the article about the ALCU lawsuit, I think that it is everybody’s right by the first amendment that they can have freedom of religion.  The person who wrote the blog was a little harsh.  Yea, prisoners did something bad and deserve proper punishment, but taking away one of their rights is really fair.  I think that they should be allowed to partake in group prayer as long as they were muslim before coming to prison.  As long as it’s not a “social hour” and they are indeed praying, I think that it should be okay.
